In brief
ACAR Gartenbedarf is the brand name of Acar Import & Export, a sole proprietorship based in Basel. We import perlite for gardeners in Switzerland – from balcony to greenhouse – and sell it directly to our customers.
Our story
What began as a small import project is now a specialised garden-supplies business focused on perlite. Acar Import & Export has been entered in the commercial register of the Canton of Basel-Stadt since August 2025.
We value direct contact with producers, fair prices and solutions that work.

How we work
A product we know
We concentrate on perlite instead of carrying a confusing range. That lets us give you concrete advice on grain size, quantity and use.
Short routes
We keep in direct contact with the producers. That keeps routes short and prices fair.
Honest advice
Perlite is a very useful additive, but it is not the best solution for every plant. If something else suits your project better, we will tell you. Our guide articles explain the differences openly – with sources.
